Comfort In Times Of Turmoil For God’s People!

In what do we trust? Our coins and currency say we trust in God, but do we really? The foundations of the world are shaking and Satan roars like a maddened lion, and all around us is confusion, violence, and uncertainty, but those who trust in the Lord, and are confident that he truly is in control, can truly stand still to see God’s salvation with their hearts and minds at peace. I know it can be difficult but God is in control regardless of whether it looks like it or not. If you are his child you can enjoy rest and sleep sweetly, regardless of how things look.
Today I want to give you some of the sweet promises from God’s word. Trust Him! These are perilous times, no doubt about that but trust him. If you are his child, these promises are for you! These promises are taken from the New Living Translation, one of my favorites.
* “God’s way is perfect.
All the Lord’s promises prove true.
He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.” (2 Samuel 22:31).
* “Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways.
By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies.” (Psalm 17:7).
* “How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection blessing them before the watching world.” (Psalm 31:19).
* “You hide them in the shelter of your presence, safe from those who conspire against them. You shelter them in your presence, far from accusing tongues.” (Psalm 31:20).
* “So be strong and courageous all you who put your hope in the Lord!” (Psalm 31:24).
* “Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.” (Psalm 37:5).
* “The Lord rescues the godly; he is their fortress in times of trouble. The Lord helps them, rescuing them from the wicked. He saves them, and they find shelter in him.” (Psalm 37:39-40).
* “I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?
What can mere mortals do to me?” (Psalm 56:4).
* “O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.” (Psalm 62:8).
* “Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever.” (Psalm 125:1).
* “Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety.” (Proverbs 29:25).
The only safeguard against Satan’s lies (and he indeed is a liar and the father of lies)—John 8:44 — and evil devices is to face him with the promises of God. God’s Word is still all powerful and the devil still trembles when we stand firm with this Sword in hand.
Today—now—take your stand.
